dear target,

if you keep this up, i may no longer have a need for j.crew.

that will never be true. but seriously, i have been getting some great things from the merona collection in the last few months. their sheath dresses were my savior on those hot june days in the classroom, and at $40 a pop, i've a well-stocked closet.

in other news, kevin and i decided to do a processed-food detox this week, which means we're eating not quite raw, but more whole (unprocessed) foods. so far today i've only had a few baby carrots, which means i'm off to the market!

can you hear the ice cream man?

gaga at lolla, 2007

summer is coming... today i got these:

two scoops of coconut ice cream & a perfect pink manicure.

last weekend i scored these pink depression glass treasures...

which i can't wait to dust off for a summery pancake breakfast, à la

...but i'll have to make it through the school year first.

honest-to-goodness sunshine.

i fully acknowledge that i am getting ahead of myself here, BUT... today there was sunshine! sunshine when i left the house for work! and sunshine when i came home from school! it was a dream.

i wore a coral colored cardigan today, and someone pointed out what a nice spring color it is. why, yes, yes it is! when i came home, i noticed the pile of clothes sitting on my bed... notice a pattern? orange sherbert-y, coral-y, pink-y, papaya colored goodness.

there was a similar scene in the bathroom. here you can see posietint, which is my new favorite lip stain. it's a perfect pink... or posy, or poppy, or papaya, or whatever you'd like to call that lovely, warm-weather shade that i'm obsessed with.

and the raspberries at the grocery store? they were RED. they were not local, but they were red. an actual, lovely raspberry shade of red, instead of that icky deep maroon i've gotten used to seeing.

speaking of spring and gorgeous color, i will be needing this poppy dress from j.crew. please & thank you.

good things are coming.

croquembouche

i've been obsessed with macarons lately. it stems from spring, passover, and, i must admit, a not-entirely-successful attempt at making them. i found this picture recently and i could just gaze at it foreeeeever. i've always kind of loved the idea of a croquembouche, and one made out of macarons is just so brilliant and pretty.

bagels.

we made bagels. they looked, tasted, and smelled like bagels. GLORIOUS.

i can't wait till i have kids, i can't wait till they're old enough to have sleepovers, and i can't wait until i'm the cool mom who always has the best treats.
